Some men walk into a room and immediately shift the energy. Not because they’re loud, but because their presence speaks first. KAMBALE JOHN KAMBERE is one of those men. A tailor, entrepreneur, and stylist, he embodies the belief that style is not just what you wear—it’s how you carry yourself. In this exclusive GREYBEARD MANIFESTO conversation, we talk about elegance, confidence, and why every day is an opportunity to show up as your best self.

First Impressions

AG: Kambale, thank you for joining us. You represent style, grace, charm, and elegance. You have that willingness to get up, put on a uniform, and take on the world.

KJK: Thank you. For me, presentation matters. Style is more than clothes—it’s an aura. Even when I’m quiet, I’m reading energy and preparing my response.

The Power of Presence

AG: People say they can spot me from a block away just by my walk. I think I got that from my father—he could change the energy of a room instantly.

KJK: Exactly. When I first saw you, I thought, that’s it—that’s what I aspire to. My mom taught me that you never know who you’ll meet or what opportunities may come your way. That’s why I always want to show up at my best.

AG: Getting dressed is a statement: “Today I’m owning this.”

KJK: Yes. Even if I’m just picking up dry cleaning, I want to step out as my best self.

From Personal Style to Business

AG: I’ve seen your suits—they’re signature. Where do you get them?

KJK: That’s YB Tailoring, my menswear brand. We create custom garments designed for real life. I wear them in the gym, at the shops—everywhere. It’s not something I created after the fact. Style was always who I was. My mom was a tailor, so it’s in my blood. YB Tailoring was simply the next step.

Inspirations

AG: Outside of your own line, who inspires you?

KJK: Ralph Lauren, definitely. And Oswald Boateng from London. I admire his work, though we don’t see enough of it these days.

Shoes and Comfort

AG: Wingtips or derbies?

KJK: Derbies. They balance formality with casual ease.

AG: I’m a wingtip guy myself. But comfort is key. A $200 pair that feels good beats a $700 pair that feels like walking on a couch.

KJK: I agree. Style should never make you suffer. Quality matters, but knowing your body and what works for you matters more.

Final Reflections

AG: What’s the philosophy that guides you every day?

KJK: Style isn’t just appearance—it’s respect for yourself and others. Life gives you a hundred opportunities a day to show up. Don’t waste them.
